The Student Advice and Welfare Services section - part of the University's Centre for Student Affairs - offers free immigration advice to current and prospective students. The advice is offered by a team of trained student advisers and is regulated by the Immigration and Asylum Act (1999).

The questions in this section cover the topic of general immigration rules and issues such as visa extensions, travelling outside of the UK whilst being a student at UWE and entry clearance. Also covered is the issue of partners or spouses obtaining paid work as well as what to do about lost or stolen papers/passports.
