UWE's Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) is for anyone at UWE with a love of the performing arts, whether complete beginners or experienced performers. CPA activities include a variety of classes and musical groups, the Big Band, the Brass Consort, the Chamber Choir, the Gospel Choir and University Singers as well as the Symphony Orchestra and drama groups. For more details on these activities, please see CPA's website.
To join CPA, you need to fill out an application form available from the CPA office, Frenchay Campus or from the CPA tutors. You will need to fill in an enrolment form and pay £12 (£18 for staff and friends). Once you have joined, you can take part in any of the CPA or MAD activities - just go along to a rehearsal or meeting.
UWE also has a music practice room that contains a piano and can be used for practising piano and other instruments. You just need to sign up on the rota. The University does not hire out instruments but contact the CPA or see Instrumental Tuition for details on music teachers in and around Bristol (including tutors within the CPA who teach piano, cello, violin and woodwind).
