What do I do if I lose the funding provided by my sponsor and cannot pay for my support, have unexpected costs or my support needs change?

If you are suddenly unable to pay for your support or your support needs change, it will be very hard for you to replace funding or raise extra funding. UWE has a very limited emergency fund set aside for international students and students with disabilities. However, this will naturally depend on the amount of money involved. Every case is assessed on an individual basis and any reasonable request will be considered. You should also bear in mind that, if the University is able to offer you financial assistance, it will only be until the end of the current academic year and not on-going until the end of your studies.

You should contact the Disability Services or Student Advice and Welfare Services as soon as you know that you will or might experience difficulties, as the process might take several weeks. The Disability Servicemight also be able to offer further advice.
