The Disability Services offers advice and assistance to students with an impairment, medical condition, mental health difficulty or specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia who may require support to gain equal access to the curriculum. Disabled students who require assistance organising disability related support should contact the Disability Services as soon as possible (and before your programme begins) to ensure arrangements are in place for the start of term.
The Disability Services provides:
- assessments of educational support needs
- training in the use of assistive technology
- advice on study-related support
- coordination of non-medical support workers
- advice on funding and arranging dyslexia identification tests
- advice on arranging dyslexia tuition
- pre-entry guidance for disabled applicants
- information about alternative arrangements for examinations and assessments
- information on local and national disability organisations and services.
